Parkham is a small village within the Parish of Parkham four miles south of Horns Cross and the A39 on the North Devon coast. The parish lies within the Kenwith ward in the Torridge local authority. About 800 people live within Parkham and in the surrounding area.

Services within Parkham are limited. They include Parkham Primary School, which has a capacity of 70, and a church, which is a central pillar of the community.

Although there is a substantial farming community around Parkham, the majority of capital is earned outside of the village. During the summer months, tourism contributes to the economy through a number of guest houses in the area. Penhaven Country House Hotel can be found within Parkham. The Bell Inn, Parkham's only pub, is in the centre of the village. Also located within the village is the local Butcher, G E Honey & Son.
